I have the Longines Spirit Zulu time, the Blue Seiko SSK001, and the Baltic Aquascaphe. I like all three of them. The Baltic is simple and elegant, but might wear smaller than its true measurements. The Longines is gorgeous and very wearable. The Seiko exhibits everything I like about the brand.

Seiko Presage GMT, a true GMT mechanical movement. Sapphire crystal, hard coated case bezel and bracelet, patterned dial, 29 jewel 45hrs power reserve in-house mechanical movement and made in Japan. Less than $1500!

Thank you for the interesting article. Here are 2 additional traveler’s GMT pieces under $1k: Jack Mason Strat-o-timer is an upscale, regulated Miyota 9075-based GMT. Citizen Promaster Marine (or any version with the B877 moment) is an EcoDrive traveler’s GMT. Both are excellent choices.

Vostoks are difficult to set in my experience.

Just pull the crown completely out to set. I assume its the “wonkiness” of the crown when hand winding (and also setting) that makes people uncomfortable. But Stepping OUT of comfort is good for growth so welcome the challenge!

I have that Neptune GMT, it’s quite complicated to set the date and the GMT because it uses Vostok’s 1960s technology for the movement. So it ends up just as a collection in my watchbox.
