Any problems with lacquered wood leaching the lacquer into the watch mechanism? Years ago I had a mechanical watch from the 1970’s that I stored for a time in a nice lacquered cigar box (no cigars or cigar residue, the box had been used for storing many things over many years, had been cleaned out before the watch went in there). When I took the watch out one day, it was all gummed up inside and the mechanism had to be disassembled and cleaned and put back together again. I learned a lesson the hard way.

Good read. Want to show my show mine just for me. Personally I keep pieces close, boxes elsewhere and papers/ tags in bank box.
