They would lose their main asset, the prestige associated with the brand, the very thing that makes people beg to buy a watch. And therefore willing to pay for an overpriced, mass produced watch.

Good article; in terms of innovation, Grand Seiko’s Spring Drive movement should definitely be included as it overcomes the two distinct issues with mechanical and quartz movements by creating a hybrid movement.

Itâs a shame the world of writers doesnât care about this massive project. Maybe the brand should be doing more marketing.
