Every online watch magazine have their own top 10 Swiss watch brands list.
Most magazines have Rolex, Omega and PP as the first three highest level brands.
Rolex had not their roots in Switzerland, but IWC either.
Omega is here the first on top as this brand originated in Switzerland.
Louis Brandt was a key figure in Omega’s history.
Bringing the Speedmaster with an USA astronaut to the moon was the cherry on the cake.
Using my own Seamaster, i can see why this brand is the biggest.
I will not post my personal top 10 Swiss watch brand list, but more a general list that contain
more heritage.
IWC was founded and is to this day located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland – so we think it is an appropriate fit for this list. Don’t you?

I would like help to rank the following brands/models regarding quality, recognition, value, history, which one is a better purchase Baume & Mercier Riviera, Tag Heuer Aquaracer, Longines Hydroconquest, Rado HyperChrome and Breitling Superocean (Last one is a bit more expensive).
Its hard to have 1 ranked list for those topics because value, recognition, history, and quality are somewhat mutually exclusive. I’ll make a list based on quality/history though of these BRANDS, not watches (in my opinion)… 1) Breitling SuperOcean 2) Longines Hydroconquest 3) B&M Riviera 4) Tag Aquaracer 5) Rado HyperChromo.
Reason I cant put all 4 of those topics you mentioned is mainly recognition. Tag is higher recognized by longines, but longines has a richer history and more well known for quality. Breitling is definitely the winner out of these manufacturers though. Tag will hold its value better than Longines and maybe even B&M, but Tag is too mainstream imo. Go with the Superocean or Hydroconquest… Hands Down!

I have been a watch nut since i got my first timex i was left some money shared it amongst my family. But left enough for a rolex submariner went to goldsmiths and was told i was wasting my time i was told i had no past with rolex i now own a IWC pilot
Heartbreaking, the Rolex situation, especially when you see brand new models of the watch of your dreams, immediately re-advertised at a thirty percent increase.
